Facebook Launches Integrated Messaging Service

Facebook has announced its new messaging service, integrating email, chat and texts is to be rolled out this month.

Users will soon have the option to use an @facebook.com email address allowing them to send messages to Facebook while integrating text and chat.

A single thread will present private messages from friends, whether they are sent by chat, text or email. Inbox priorities have changed, with only messages from Facebook friends going to the inbox and messages from non-Facebook friends going to an ‘Others’ folder.
